Sakkari beats Hibino in Singapore and returns for the quarterfinals as Laver Cup singles begin

Maria Sakkari's 7-5 6-1 win over Nao Hibino put her into a Singapore quarterfinal scheduled for today alongside Mirra Andreeva against Leylah Fernandez, while three Laver Cup singles matches and a full Asian round of 16 are also on the card.

Maria Sakkari's 7-5 6-1 win over Nao Hibino in the Singapore round of 16 is dated 24 September, and she is scheduled straight back out today against Talia Gibson (#63) in the quarterfinals. The other quarterfinal fixtures supplied for Singapore pair Mirra Andreeva (#5) with Leylah Fernandez (#31) and Elise Mertens (#19) with Maja Chwalinska (#25).

In Buenos Aires, Pedro Boscardin Dias recovered from a 0-6 opening set to beat Franco Roncadelli 0-6 7-6 6-3.
Two San Diego and Buenos Aires results carry today's date: Andres Andrade came from a set down to beat Darwin Blanch 3-6 6-3 7-5, while Juan Carlos Prado Angelo needed far less against Valerio Aboian, winning 6-2 6-1. Both draws also delivered results on 24 September, including Timo Legout over Colton Smith 6-3 6-3 and Alex Barrena over Juan Pablo Ficovich 6-3 7-5.
