Medvedev beats Royer 7-6 6-3 in Hangzhou last 16

Daniil Medvedev defeated Valentin Royer 7-6 6-3 in the Round of 16 at ATP Hangzhou on hard courts. The Russian recorded 16 aces against four double faults, landed 62.5% of his first serves and won 84.4% of those points, along with 55.6% behind the second delivery. Medvedev faced five break points and saved all five. Royer, of France, struck three aces with one double fault, put 64.5% of first serves in and won 67.3% of those points, matching Medvedev's 55.6% on second serve. The Frenchman faced four break points and saved three, a 75% rate.
