Gibson edges Morvayova in two tie-breaks in Singapore

Talia Gibson beat Viktnria Morvayova 7-6 7-6 in the Round of 16 on the hard courts of WTA Singapore. The Australian landed 47.7 percent of her first serves and won 85.7 percent of those points, adding eight aces against six double faults, with 50.0 percent of her second-serve points won. She faced seven break points and saved six, a rate of 85.7 percent. Morvayova put 56.0 percent of her first serves in and won 74.5 percent behind them, striking five aces with two double faults, winning 45.0 percent of second-serve points and saving five of the six break points she faced.
