Fernandez beats Parks 6-4 6-3 in Singapore last 16

Leylah Fernandez of Canada defeated American Alycia Parks 6-4, 6-3 in the Round of 16 on the hard courts of WTA Singapore. Fernandez landed 63.3% of her first serves and won 71.0% of those points, adding 50.0% behind her second delivery, with two aces against four double faults. She faced four break points and saved two. Parks struck six aces but hit nine double faults, putting 44.3% of first serves in play and winning 59.3% of those points and 41.2% on second serve. She saved two of the seven break points she faced, 28.6%.
