Garland beats Hunter 6-3 5-7 6-1 in Singapore

Joanna Garland of Chinese Taipei defeated Australia's Storm Hunter 6-3 5-7 6-1 in the Round of 32 on the hard courts of WTA Singapore. Garland struck six aces against five double faults, landed 59.3 percent of her first serves and won 60.8 percent of those points, along with 51.4 percent behind her second delivery. She faced nine break points and saved five, a rate of 55.6 percent. Hunter put 66.3 percent of first serves in play and won 54.2 percent of them, with 50 percent on second serve, four aces and three double faults, saving five of the 12 break points she faced.
