In the Singapore round of 16, Tatiana Prozorova recovered from a set down to defeat Alexandra Eala 4-6 7-5 6-3. Maria Sakkari also advanced, taking the opening set from Nao Hibino before pulling clear for a 7-5 6-1 win; Sakkari is scheduled to face Talia Gibson in Friday's quarterfinals.
On the Chinese hard courts, Chak Lam Coleman Wong beat Zhizhen Zhang 6-3 6-3 in the Hangzhou round of 32, where Daniel Vallejo needed three sets to see off Jie Cui 6-1 6-7 6-4. In Chengdu, Hubert Hurkacz defeated Alexandr Shevchenko 6-3 7-6 and Juan Manuel Cerundolo beat Yi Zhou 6-4 6-3.
Challenger play produced several straight-sets wins. Katie Swan dropped one game against V Steiner in Porto, winning 6-1 6-0, while Angelina Voloshchuk beat Harmony Tan 6-1 1-6 6-0 and Reese Brantmeier defeated Naiktha Bains 6-4 6-4. Ekaterine Gorgodze required two tight sets to get past Barbora Palicova 7-5 7-5 in Tolentino, where Julia Grabher came back to beat Alice Tubello 3-6 6-3 6-4 and Oksana Selekhmeteva turned around a first-set loss to defeat Samira De Stefano 5-7 6-1 6-2. On the men's side, Pedro Boscardin Dias lost the opening set 0-6 before beating Franco Roncadelli 7-6 6-3 in Buenos Aires.
