Two quarterfinals were completed at the WTA 1000 in Guadalajara on Thursday. Iva Jovic dropped three games in beating Magdalena Frech 6-2 6-1, while Liudmila Samsonova needed three sets to get past Marta Kostyuk 4-6 6-2 7-5 after losing the opener.
