Back beats Yuan in three sets in Seoul Round of 32

Dayeon Back of Korea defeated China's Yue Yuan 6-3 4-6 6-1 in the Round of 32 on the hard courts of WTA Seoul. Back landed 74.4 percent of her first serves and won 51.6 percent of those points, while taking 72.7 percent behind her second delivery, and she faced 12 break points, saving eight for a rate of 66.7 percent. Yuan put 54.5 percent of her first serves in play, winning 46.3 percent of those points and 55.6 percent on her second, and saved nine of 16 break points. Neither player struck an ace; Yuan served three double faults to Back's none.
