Podoroska beats Lamens in three sets in Sao Paulo

Nadia Podoroska of Argentina beat the Netherlands' Suzan Lamens 7-6 3-6 6-3 in the Sao Paulo quarterfinals on hard courts. The Argentine landed 62.8% of first serves, winning 64.4% of those points and 48.6% behind the second delivery, with one ace and nine double faults. She faced 13 break points and saved eight, 61.5%. Lamens matched her with 63.4% of first serves in and 65.1% of first-serve points won, but took only 33.3% of second-serve points, struck no aces and recorded 16 double faults while saving 10 of the 15 break points she faced.
