Gauff Beats Fellow American Jovic 6-1 6-4 in US Open Round of 16
Coco Gauff moved into the US Open quarterfinals with a controlled 6-1 6-4 win over fellow American Iva Jovic, taking command early and never surrendering the initiative in the second set. The difference lived on serve: Gauff won 67.7% of her first-serve points and a solid 57.9% behind her second, while Jovic managed only 42.1% on first serve despite landing 64.4% of them. Jovic served cleanly with just one double fault, but without an ace she found little free help. For Gauff, it was an efficient all-American round-of-16 win on home hard courts.
