Rus beats Lamens in all-Dutch US Open qualifying semifinal

Arantxa Rus came through an all-Dutch US Open qualifying semifinal 6-3 6-4, controlling both sets without ever letting Suzan Lamens back in. The serve told the story: Rus landed 80.8 percent of her first deliveries and won 73.8 percent of those points, then backed it up by taking 80 percent behind her second ball with just one double fault. Lamens found the box only 58.7 percent of the time, won 52.6 percent of her second-serve points and coughed up three double faults. The win carried Rus to the final round of qualifying.
