Tjen fights back past Yastremska in Monterrey opener
Janice Tjen recovered from a set down to beat Dayana Yastremska 2-6 6-3 7-6 in the Monterrey round of 32, closing out a decider that went all the way to a tiebreak. The Indonesian's serve carried her through the turnaround: she struck 12 aces to Yastremska's four and won 70.5 percent of her first-serve points, against 66.1 for the Ukrainian. Yastremska landed slightly more first serves, 64.8 percent to 61.6, but eight double faults and just 37.5 percent of second-serve points won undermined her. For Tjen, it was a hard-earned win over a big hitter on hard court.
