Kayla Day rallies past Yue Yuan to reach Cincinnati main draw

Kayla Day came from a set down to beat Yue Yuan 2-6 7-5 6-3 in the final round of qualifying at the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati. The American was overrun in the opening set but steadied herself behind a heavy serve, striking 13 aces to Yuan's five and landing 63 percent of her first deliveries against 60 percent for her opponent. Both players kept the errors down with three double faults apiece, so the difference came from Day's free points at the key moments of the second set. The win carried her into the main draw.
