Dart routs Uchijima 6-3 6-0 in Cincinnati qualifying

Harriet Dart booked her place in the Cincinnati qualifying final with a ruthless 6-3 6-0 win over Moyuka Uchijima, closing the match with a shutout second set. Neither player found rhythm on first serve, but Dart landed 54.8 percent of hers and won 73.5 percent of those points, against 50.0 percent and 61.1 percent for the Japanese. The difference was starkest behind the second ball, where Dart claimed 42.9 percent of points to Uchijima's 27.8, and the loser's five double faults outnumbered the Briton's four. For Dart, it was a commanding step to the final qualifying round.
