Medvedev and Rublev face Hangzhou semifinals as Basavareddy wins San Diego 2 final
Daniil Medvedev meets Roman Safiullin and Andrey Rublev faces Kyrian Jacquet in Saturday's Hangzhou semifinals, a day after Nishesh Basavareddy and Alex Barrena closed out Challenger finals in San Diego and Buenos Aires.

The ATP stop in Hangzhou reaches its semifinal stage on Sunday, with Daniil Medvedev (#6) scheduled against Roman Safiullin (#102) and Kyrian Jacquet (#107) drawn against Andrey Rublev (#25). Chengdu also has both semifinals on the same date: Nikoloz Basilashvili (#145) plays Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (#29), while Hubert Hurkacz (#46) meets Denis Shapovalov (#50).
The ATP 500 events in Beijing and Tokyo fill out the schedule for 28 September. In Tokyo, Arthur Fils (#11) is listed against Martin Damm (#106) and Stefanos Tsitsipas (#44) against Yoshihito Nishioka, whose ranking is unavailable; other Tokyo pairings include Jaume Munar (#66) vs Marcos Giron (#85) and Zachary Svajda (#81) vs Aleksandar Kovacevic (#80). Nishesh Basavareddy beat Igor Ribeiro Marcondes 7-5 6-4 in the San Diego 2 final, while Alex Barrena defeated Facundo Mena 6-4 6-0 for the Buenos Aires 3 title on clay. On the WTA side, Julia Grabher took the Tolentino final 7-6 6-2 against Maristany G.
Qualifying is also advancing at several Challengers. In Columbus, Li Tu, Quinn Vandecasteele, Ayeni A., Kaylan Bigun and Daniil Ostapenkov all won qualifying semifinals dated 28 September, adding to the 27 September wins of Duncan Chan, James Kent Trotter, Alex Rybakov and Keaton Hance. Porto and Curitiba likewise completed a set of qualifying semifinals, including Christian Langmo's 7-5 4-6 6-4 win over Eliakim Coulibaly and Jose Pereira's 6-4 3-6 6-3 result against Rafael Tosetto.
