The only title decided among the results recorded so far went to Kaitlin Quevedo, who lost the opening set of the WTA Sao Paulo final before turning the match around to beat Nadia Podoroska 4-6 6-4 6-2 on the hard courts.
At the ATP Challenger in St. Tropez, Mark Lajal needed only two sets to see off David Goffin 6-3 6-4 in the round of 32. Andrea Guerrieri also advanced there, edging Francesco Maestrelli 6-3 6-7 6-3.
The longest scoreline of those reported came on the clay of Plovdiv 4, where Calvin Hemery beat Daniel Elahi Galan 6-7 7-6 7-6, with all three sets going to tiebreaks. Pol Martin Tiffon recovered from a 1-6 opening set to defeat Benjamin Hassan 1-6 6-4 6-1, and Max Alcala Gurri beat Eliakim Coulibaly 6-4 6-2.
At the other end of the scale, Kajsa Rinaldo Persson dropped no games in Porto, defeating Carla Tomai 6-0 6-0. Also through in Portugal were Oceane Dodin, a 1-6 6-3 6-4 winner over Susan Bandecchi, and Sinja Kraus, who beat Lizette Cabrera 6-1 6-4. In Tolentino, Leyre Romero Gormaz survived a three-set, two-tiebreak contest with Polona Hercog 6-7 6-1 7-6, while Mia Ristic beat Arantxa Rus 4-6 6-0 6-3 and Maristany G. defeated Despina Papamichail 6-3 6-3.
Tomorrow brings the opening rounds in Seoul and Singapore, including Jelena Ostapenko against Anastasia Zakharova, Maria Sakkari facing Linda Fruhvirtova and Barbora Krejcikova meeting Anna Lena Friedsam.
