Burel rallies for Valencia title; Gueymard Wayenburg edges Mayot in Rennes final

Three Challenger finals were decided among the results recorded so far. In Valencia, Clara Burel dropped the opening set to Alicia Herrero Linana before turning the match around, winning 4-6 6-0 6-2 on the clay. Herrero Linana took the first set 6-4 but did not win a game in the second.
On the hard courts of Caldas da Rainha, Lisa Pigato beat Gabriela Andrea Knutson 6-4 6-2 in straight sets. At Rennes, Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg needed three sets to get past Harold Mayot, losing the first 4-6 before closing out 6-3 7-5.
Davis Cup ties supplied further completed singles. In World Group I, Francisco Cerundolo conceded one game to Mert Alkaya in a 6-1 6-0 win, and O Milic defeated Pijus Vaitiekunas 6-2 6-2. In World Group II, Alan Fernando Rubio Fierros beat Simons T. 6-0 6-1.
Qualifying produced the longest battles. At Plovdiv 4, Pavlos Tsitsipas came through two tie-breaks against Tiago Pereira, 6-7 7-5 7-6, while in St. Tropez Patrick Zahraj recovered from a set down to beat Mathys Erhard 4-6 7-5 7-6 and Moez Echargui defeated Luca Potenza 6-7 6-4 6-3. Murphy Cassone (6-4 6-0 over Hugo Car) and Vadym Ursu (3-6 7-6 6-1 against Gabi Adrian Boitan) completed the recorded St. Tropez semi-finals. Buenos Aires 3 delivered six qualifying results, headed by Matias Franco Descotte's 7-5 6-1 win over Santiago De La Fuente.
Tomorrow's listed schedule moves to the WTA main tours, with Daria Kasatkina (#85) facing Aliaksandra Sasnovich (#130) and Rebecca Sramkova (#146) meeting Maja Chwalinska (#26) in Singapore, and Lanlana Tararudee (#61) opening against Moyuka Uchijima (#104) in Seoul.
