Han Shi edges Kalieva in Beijing qualifying final

Han Shi of China beat American Elvina Kalieva 6-7 7-5 6-3 in the qualifying final of the WTA 1000 in Beijing, on hard courts. Shi landed 63.2% of her first serves and won 68.3% of those points, adding 60.0% behind the second delivery, with five aces and five double faults. She faced 10 break points and saved six, a rate of 60.0%. Kalieva put 58.2% of first serves in, winning 57.8% of those points and 52.2% on second serve, with two aces and four double faults, saving six of the 13 break points she faced, 46.2%.
