Vallejo beats Faria in Tokyo qualifying final

Daniel Vallejo of Paraguay beat Portugal's Jaime Faria 6-4 5-7 7-5 in the qualifying final of the ATP 500 in Tokyo. On hard courts, Vallejo landed 68.1% of first serves and won 71.4% of those points, adding 52.8% behind the second delivery, with four aces and four double faults. He faced nine break points and saved seven, a rate of 77.8%. Faria struck 13 aces against five double faults, put 57.0% of first serves in play and won 75.4% of those points and 51.2% of second-serve points, saving none of the three break points he faced.
