Inglis downs Yao 6-1 7-5 in Beijing qualifying

Australia's Maddison Inglis defeated China's Xinxin Yao 6-1, 7-5 in the qualifying semifinals of the WTA 1000 event in Beijing, on hard courts. Inglis landed 57.1 percent of her first serves and won 85.7 percent of those points, along with 52.4 percent behind her second delivery, striking one ace against three double faults. She faced one break point in the match and did not save it. Yao put 61.2 percent of first serves in play, winning 53.3 percent of those points and 47.4 percent on her second serve, with one ace, one double fault and one of five break points saved.
