Vallejo beats Taro Daniel 6-3, 6-2 in Tokyo qualifying
Daniel Vallejo defeated Taro Daniel 6-3, 6-2 in the qualifying semifinals of the ATP 500 event in Tokyo, on hard courts. The Paraguayan struck six aces without a double fault, landed 63.5% of his first serves and won 87.9% of those points, along with 63.2% of his second-serve points. He faced three break points and saved all three. Daniel, of Japan, recorded four aces and one double fault, put 61.8% of first serves in play and won 52.9% of those points and 57.1% behind the second delivery, saving two of the five break points he faced.
