Tsitsipas downs Nishioka 7-5 6-2 in Tokyo qualifying

Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Yoshihito Nishioka 7-5, 6-2 in the qualifying semifinals of the ATP 500 in Tokyo, played on hard courts. The Greek struck nine aces without a double fault and landed 66.0 percent of his first serves, winning 81.8 percent of those points and 64.7 percent behind his second delivery. He faced two break points across the match and saved neither. Nishioka, the Japanese, managed two aces against three double faults, put 56.5 percent of first serves in and took 64.1 percent of those points, with 33.3 percent won on second serve.
