Hijikata beats Ugo Carabelli 6-2 6-3 in Tokyo qualifying

Rinky Hijikata of Australia defeated Argentina's Camilo Ugo Carabelli 6-2, 6-3 in the qualifying semifinals of the ATP 500 event in Tokyo, played on hard courts. The Australian landed 53.1 percent of his first serves but won 92.3 percent of those points, along with 60.9 percent behind his second delivery, striking five aces against three double faults and facing no break points across the match. Ugo Carabelli put 70.6 percent of first serves in play, winning 61.1 percent of those points and 46.7 percent on second serve, with six aces, one double fault and four of eight break points saved.
