Rublev edges Gaston in three sets in Hangzhou quarterfinals

Andrey Rublev of Russia defeated France's Hugo Gaston 6-7 7-6 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the ATP hard-court event in Hangzhou. Rublev's serve returned 11 aces against four double faults, with 60.2 percent of his first serves in, 75.4 percent of those first-serve points won and 48.8 percent behind the second delivery. He faced six break points and saved three. Gaston recorded five aces and five double faults, landed 62 percent of first serves and won 62.7 percent of those points, plus 46.3 percent on his second. The Frenchman faced 15 break points and saved 10, a rate of 66.7 percent.
