Shapovalov beats Mannarino in three sets in Chengdu

Denis Shapovalov of Canada defeated France's Adrian Mannarino 6-7 6-3 6-2 in the quarterfinals of the ATP hard-court event in Chengdu. The Canadian's serve produced 14 aces alongside nine double faults, with 67.9 percent of his first serves in play and 77.8 percent of those points won, against 47.1 percent behind the second delivery. Shapovalov faced four break points and saved all four. Mannarino struck six aces with a single double fault, landed 65.9 percent of first serves and won 67.2 percent of those points, plus 70.0 percent on the second serve, saving four of the eight break points he faced.
