Birrell beats Joint 6-4 6-2 in all-Australian Seoul final

Kimberly Birrell defeated fellow Australian Maya Joint 6-4 6-2 in the final of the WTA hard-court tournament in Seoul. Birrell landed 64.8% of her first serves and won 62.9% of those points, along with 47.4% of her second-serve points. She struck no aces against three double faults, and faced six break points, saving three of them. Joint recorded four aces and five double faults, put 57.4% of her first serves in play, won 61.3% of first-serve points and 30.4% behind the second, and saved four of the 10 break points she faced.
