Fernandez beats Chwalinska in Singapore semifinal

Leylah Fernandez beat Maja Chwalinska 1-6 6-4 6-2 in the semifinals of the WTA hard-court event in Singapore. The Canadian landed 63.5% of her first serves and won 63.8% of those points, adding 44.4% behind her second delivery, with two aces against four double faults. Chwalinska, of Poland, put 73.1% of her first serves in play and won 63.3% of those points, while taking 33.3% of her second-serve points, with no aces and one double fault. Both players faced eight break points and saved three, a 37.5% rate apiece.
