Birrell beats Bondar in three sets in Seoul semifinal

Kimberly Birrell of Australia defeated Hungary's Anna Bondar 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 in the semifinals of the WTA hard-court event in Seoul. Birrell landed 60.0% of her first serves and won 66.7% of those points, along with 57.1% behind her second delivery, with one ace and three double faults. Across the match she faced nine break points and saved five, a rate of 55.6%. Bondar struck five aces to two double faults and put 56.9% of her first serves in, winning 64.5% of first-serve points and 42.6% on her second. She faced 19 break points in total and saved 13, or 68.4%.
