Safiullin beats Halys in three sets at Hangzhou

Roman Safiullin of Russia defeated France's Quentin Halys 5-7 6-3 6-4 in the round of 16 at the ATP hard-court event in Hangzhou. Halys struck 14 aces to Safiullin's seven and recorded just one double fault, against four from the Russian. Halys landed 64.9% of his first serves and won 92.0% of those points, while claiming 44.4% of his second-serve points. Safiullin put 62.9% of first serves in, winning 75.4% of first-serve points and 55.6% behind the second. Across the match Safiullin faced three break points and saved two, Halys faced five and saved three.
