Fernandez beats Andreeva in Singapore quarterfinals

Canada's Leylah Fernandez defeated Russia's Mirra Andreeva 6-2, 7-5 in the quarterfinals of the WTA hard-court event in Singapore. Fernandez landed 61.9% of her first serves and won 69.2% of those points, against 37.5% behind her second delivery, with one ace and six double faults. She faced seven break points in total and saved four, a rate of 57.1%. Andreeva put 67.2% of her first serves in but won 51.3% of those points and 36.8% of her second-serve points, with no aces and four double faults; across the match she faced 11 break points and saved five, 45.5%.
