Korneeva beats Astakhova in three sets in Seoul

Alina Korneeva defeated fellow Russian Darya Astakhova 6-2 3-6 6-1 in the Round of 16 on hard courts at WTA Seoul. Korneeva landed 59.6 percent of her first serves, winning 64.2 percent of those points and 47.2 percent behind her second delivery, with one ace against six double faults. She faced 10 break points across the match and saved seven, a rate of 70 percent. Astakhova put 64 percent of her first serves in play but won 52.7 percent of those points and 41.9 percent on her second, striking no aces with three double faults. She saved six of the 12 break points she faced.
