Mochizuki beats Kotov 7-5 6-3 in Chengdu qualifying final

Japan's Shintaro Mochizuki defeated Russia's Pavel Kotov 7-5, 6-3 in the qualifying final at the ATP hard-court event in Chengdu. Mochizuki landed just 47.7 percent of his first serves, yet won 77.4 percent of those points and 64.7 percent behind his second delivery, striking no aces against three double faults. He faced seven break points and saved five, a rate of 71.4 percent. Kotov served more reliably, with 69.4 percent of first serves in, five aces and one double fault, winning 67.6 percent of first-serve points and 40 percent of second-serve points, while saving none of the four break points he faced.
