Bernard Tomic of Australia beat Rigele Te 6-7 6-4 7-5 in the qualifying semifinals at the ATP event in Hangzhou, played on hard courts. Tomic landed 64.9 percent of his first serves and won 83.6 percent of those points, adding 60.6 percent behind the second delivery, with 10 aces against a single double fault. He faced two break points and saved one. Te struck 22 aces with five double faults, put 64.7 percent of first serves in and won 66.7 percent of those points, plus 51.0 percent on second serve, saving 11 of the 14 break points he faced.
