Galarneau edges Ymer 7-5 7-6 in Chengdu qualifying

Canada's Alexis Galarneau defeated Sweden's Elias Ymer 7-5 7-6 in the qualifying semifinals on hard courts at the ATP event in Chengdu. Galarneau landed 64.4% of his first serves and won 73.2% of those points, along with 51.6% behind his second delivery, striking three aces against five double faults. He faced seven break points and saved six, a rate of 85.7%. Ymer served 19 aces with three double faults, put 65.0% of first serves in play and won 70.8% of those points, but took 40.0% on his second serve, saving six of the eight break points he faced.
