Fernandez beats Okamura 6-2 6-3 in Singapore

Leylah Fernandez defeated Kyoka Okamura 6-2, 6-3 in the Round of 32 at WTA Singapore on hard courts. The Canadian struck four aces against seven double faults, landed 61.6% of her first serves and won 60.4% of those points, along with 48.5% of her second-serve points. She faced 13 break points and saved 11 of them, a rate of 84.6%. Okamura, from Japan, hit no aces and four double faults, put 65.8% of first serves in play and won 50.0% of those points, plus 40.7% behind the second delivery. She faced 22 break points and saved 17, or 77.3%.
