Garland beats Morvayova in Singapore qualifying final

Joanna Garland of Chinese Taipei defeated Viktnria Morvayova 6-4, 6-3 in the qualifying final at WTA Singapore on hard courts. Garland landed 71.2% of her first serves and won 69.0% of those points, adding 52.9% behind the second delivery, with three aces against two double faults. She faced seven break points and saved five, a rate of 71.4%. Morvayova put 50.7% of her first serves in play, winning 60.0% of those points and 44.1% on second serve, with two aces and five double faults; she faced eight break points and saved four, 50.0%.
