Hibino edges Ito in Singapore qualifying final

Nao Hibino defeated fellow Japanese player Aoi Ito 6-2 2-6 7-6 in the qualifying final at WTA Singapore on hard courts. Hibino served two aces against six double faults, landing 61.6 percent of her first serves and winning 56.6 percent of those points, along with 42.4 percent behind her second delivery. Ito hit no aces and 12 double faults, put 65.2 percent of first serves in play and won 51.7 percent of first-serve points and 34.4 percent of second-serve points. Across the match Hibino faced 10 break points and saved three, while Ito saved eight of the 15 she faced.
