Quevedo edges Blinkova in Sao Paulo semifinal

Spain's Kaitlin Quevedo defeated Russia's Anna Blinkova 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in the semifinals of the WTA hard-court event in Sao Paulo. Quevedo landed 53 percent of her first serves and won 66 percent of those points, while taking 46.8 percent behind her second delivery. She struck two aces against seven double faults and faced eight break points, saving four of them. Blinkova also hit two aces, with two double faults, and put 66 percent of first serves in play, winning 67.7 percent of those points and 37.5 percent on her second. She saved nine of the 13 break points she faced, 69.2 percent.
