Blinkova beats Charaeva in Sao Paulo quarterfinals
Anna Blinkova beat fellow Russian Alina Charaeva 6-4 7-5 in the quarterfinals of the WTA hard-court event in Sao Paulo. Blinkova landed 70.8 percent of her first serves, winning 58.8 percent of those points and 52.4 percent behind her second delivery, with one ace and no double faults. She faced 12 break points and saved eight, a rate of 66.7 percent. Charaeva struck three aces against 10 double faults, put 62.7 percent of first serves in and won 53.8 percent of those points and 41.9 percent on second serve, saving four of the 10 break points she faced.
