Valdmannova downs Pigossi 2-6 6-1 6-1 in Sao Paulo

Vendula Valdmannova of the Czech Republic defeated Brazil's Laura Pigossi 2-6, 6-1, 6-1 in the Round of 32 at the WTA hard-court event in Sao Paulo. Valdmannova landed 61.8% of her first serves, winning 63.8% of those points and 58.6% behind the second delivery, with four aces and three double faults. She faced nine break points and saved seven, a rate of 77.8%. Pigossi put 68.0% of her first serves in play and won 60.8% of those points, but took 41.7% on her second serve, striking two aces against six double faults while saving six of 11 break points.
