Dolehide edges Zarazua in three sets in Guadalajara
Caroline Dolehide came through a three-set test against home favourite Renata Zarazua, 6-1 3-6 6-3, in the Round of 32 at the WTA 1000 in Guadalajara. The American set the tone with a one-sided opener and, after Zarazua hit back to level, she found her range again in the decider. The serve numbers explain the margin: Dolehide landed 76.7% of her first deliveries and won 73.2% of those points, against 70.1% and 63.8% for Zarazua, while also edging the second-serve exchanges 47.1% to 45.0%. Three double faults were her only real blemish on a controlled afternoon that earned her a place in the next round.
