Udvardy outlasts Boisson in three sets in Guadalajara
Panna Udvardy came through a three-set battle against Lois Boisson 6-4 6-7 6-2 in the Round of 32 at the WTA 1000 in Guadalajara. The Hungarian took the opener, was pegged back in a second-set tiebreak, then pulled clear in the decider. The difference lay in the second-serve exchanges: Udvardy won 54.3 percent of those points to Boisson's 40.5, and she also edged the first-serve count, 74.1 percent to 70.0. Neither server was clean, with eight double faults from Udvardy and seven from the Frenchwoman, but the Hungarian's steadier returns earned her a place in the next round.
