Bucsa beats Andreescu in straight sets in Guadalajara

Cristina Bucsa produced a controlled straight-sets win over Bianca Andreescu, 6-4 6-3, in the round of 32 at the WTA 1000 event in Guadalajara. The difference lay behind the second serve: the Spaniard won 54.2 percent of those points, while Andreescu managed only 43.3 percent and coughed up three double faults to Bucsa's two. On first delivery the two were almost inseparable, Andreescu landing 58.3 percent and winning 61.9 percent of them against 56.4 and 61.3 for Bucsa, with a single ace apiece. Bucsa's steadiness in the vulnerable moments carried her into the next round.
