Paquet beats Mikulskyte 6-3 6-4 to reach Sao Paulo main draw
Chloe Paquet came through the Sao Paulo qualifying final in straight sets, taking out Justina Mikulskyte 6-3 6-4 without ever letting the Lithuanian settle. The Frenchwoman's serve was erratic on paper, with just 53.2 percent of first deliveries landing and eight double faults, yet she won 66.7 percent behind the first ball and a healthy 51.7 percent behind the second. Mikulskyte found the court slightly more often at 55.9 percent but converted only 51.5 percent of those points and 42.3 percent on second serve, a shortfall that decided both sets. Paquet earned her place in the main draw.
