Stearns cruises past Arango in Guadalajara second round

Peyton Stearns needed little more than an hour's worth of clean tennis to move past Emiliana Arango 6-3 6-2 in the round of 32 in Guadalajara. The American was the steadier server despite landing only 58.6 percent of her first deliveries, winning 76.5 percent of those points and coughing up just two double faults. Arango, by contrast, put 58.3 percent of first serves in but won only 53.6 percent behind them, and her second ball was picked apart, yielding 25 percent of points alongside six double faults. It was a straightforward statement win for Stearns at the WTA 1000 event.
