Osuigwe routs Labrana 6-3 6-0 in Sao Paulo qualifying
Whitney Osuigwe needed only two one-sided sets to reach the final round of qualifying in Sao Paulo, seeing off Fernanda Labrana 6-3, 6-0 with a bagel to finish. The American was steady behind her delivery, landing 70.4% of first serves and winning 65.8% of those points, and she was even more effective on the second ball, taking 75% of those points with just one double fault. Labrana, by contrast, won only 31.2% of her second-serve points and coughed up four double faults, a gap that explained the shutout in the second set. The result kept Osuigwe on track for a main-draw place.
