Dolehide routs Xu 6-0 6-4 to reach Guadalajara qualifying final

Caroline Dolehide needed barely any time to settle in Guadalajara, sweeping the opening set 6-0 and then holding off a firmer response from Mingge Xu to close out a 6-4 second set in the qualifying semifinals. The American's control of her delivery told the story: she landed 75% of her first serves and won 62.5% of those points, while Xu managed just 58.3% first serves in play. The Canadian's three aces were undone by a second serve that yielded only 30% of its points, against 43.8% for Dolehide. The win carried Dolehide into the qualifying final.
