Rybakina fights back to beat Gauff in US Open semifinal
Elena Rybakina lost the opening set but recovered to beat Coco Gauff 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the US Open semifinals. The Kazakh landed only 55.3% of her first serves, yet she made them count, winning 76.2% of those points and 55.9% behind the second ball. Gauff put more first serves in play at 58.5%, but won just 58.2% of them, and her four double faults to Rybakina's two added to the cost. Rybakina struck five aces to Gauff's four, and her greater weight of shot on serve carried the deciding set. The comeback sent her into the final in New York.
