Zheng ousts Swiatek 7-5 6-3 in US Open fourth round
Qinwen Zheng produced the result of the fourth round at the US Open, beating Iga Swiatek 7-5, 6-3 in straight sets on hard court. The Chinese player landed only 41.4 percent of her first serves, but she made them count, winning 83.3 percent of those points and 52.9 percent behind the second ball, with three aces to Swiatek's one. Swiatek was far steadier in the box at 70 percent, yet took just 57.1 percent of her first-serve points and 45.8 percent on the second, offering Zheng room to press. Both players hit two double faults.
