Andreeva rallies past Potapova to reach US Open quarter-finals
Mirra Andreeva recovered from a set down to beat Anastasia Potapova 5-7 6-4 6-3 in the US Open fourth round. The two matched each other closely on serve, landing 61.5 percent of first deliveries apiece and winning 37.8 percent of second-serve points each, so the margin came from Andreeva's superior first-ball work, 69.5 percent of those points won against Potapova's 64.4. Both were untidy, Andreeva committing eight double faults to her opponent's six, and both managed just two aces. Steadier over the closing stretch, Andreeva booked a place in the quarter-finals in New York.
